Protective device, designed to filter the cabling that connects networked devices in order to protect them against surges, interference and indirect effects of lightning.

Specifications

Small network surge protectors are incorporated into power protection equipment. They combine 1, 5 or 8 protected power sockets with 1 protected incoming RJ45 socket (coming from outside) and 1 or 2 protected outgoing RJ45 socket(s) (to the protected zone).

On some models, the surge protection module can be replaced when damaged.

    Instructions for use

    You are recommended to protect:

    • the network cable that delivers the Internet connection by placing a network surge protector between the network cable that comes from the modem and the network cable that goes to the firewall.
    • cables that exit or enter between two buildings that are connected by network cables.

    Be aware that a network surge protector does not take the place of professional power surge protection, which should be installed on the main distribution board. Also, it does not protect against direct lightning damage.
