Therapeutic Action

Systemic antifungal, mainly active against Candida albicans and Cryptococcus neoformans

Indications

Cryptococcal meningitis, in combination with amphotericin B or flucytosine

Severe oesophageal candidiasis

To be administered when oral administration is not possible

Instructions for use

Must be given as IV infusion.

Switch to oral treatment as soon as the patient can swallow.

Same code for flexible bag and semi-rigid bottle. The presentation supplied will depend on availability at supply centre when ordering.

Precautions for Use

Do not add any drug in the infusion bag/bottle.
