Indications

Meningoencephalitic stage of African trypanosomiasis due to T. b. gambiense and T. b. rhodesiense

Instructions for use

Must be given as slow IV injection.

Never administer by IM or SC route.

Precautions for Use

Due to its high toxicity and numerous adverse effects, treatment must be carried out in hospital setting under close medical supervision.

Propylene glycol (the solvent for melarsoprol) corrodes plastic; therefore, single-use syringes should be prepared immediately before administration.

Contraindicated during pregnancy.

  • Below 25°C - Protect from sunlight
