Definition

A holder used in the laboratory to hold microscope slides in an upright position during the soaking or staining procedures. It is typically made of glass, will sit sturdily upon a flat surface and has a series of spaced slots into which the slides are placed. This is a reusable device.

Instructions for use

Used for soaking the slides in xylene in order to remove immersion oil.

Precautions for Use

Handle the slides with brucelle forceps since xylene is a corrosive product.

Allows to avoid any contact with xylene (harmful by inhalation and in contact with skin).
