A forceps with a catch for locking the blades, used for seizing the end of a blood vessel to control superficial hemorrhage. It is a locking forceps (ratcheted) with finger ring handles.

Do not use these forceps for nursing care as this could impair their distal pressure (the vessels would slip of the jaws). To grip compresses and make dressings, use the appropriate forceps (standard dressing forceps or Cheron dressing forceps).
