Definition
Complete set of equipment for installing a wide band, programmable, UHF radio network, intended for short-distance communications.
Not very often used in the field, except in Angola and Colombia (95% of missions are in VHF).
Indications
Includes 1 transceiver, 5 handsets and 1 fixed antenna.
Items of which transport is regulated are packaged separately and included in a "RTR" (regulated transport) module.

Instructions for use
Always inquire about local authorizations to be obtained.
Wide band, duplex mode, and front panel programming allow the communication with other operators (except if they use VHF equipment), and the use of a repeater.
Radios are pre-programmed on standard frequencies, for immediate use.
NEVER transmit without antenna.
The antenna of the handset is fragile and is not a carrying handle. The handset range depends on environmental conditions, and is 8 km maximum.
ALWAYS USE THE PROTECTIVE SOFT CASE SUPPLIED WITH THE HANDSET.
The antenna of the base station should be erected as high as possible. The base station range depends on the antenna height, and is 30 km maximum. The base station should ideally be placed in the middle of the site, with a permanent operator in charge of relaying the messages, in order to extend the communication network.

The kit does not include the antenna mast which should be purchased locally or ordered separately (see related articles below).
