CAST PADDING
Definition
Cast Padding is a type of bandage widely used in hospitals and clinics for orthopedic purposes under a plaster or other type of cast to provide padding, prevent irritation and infection, and facilitate the healing process for orthopedic fractures or other injuries. As the layer between the rigid cast and the body, comfort is important for the patient as the padding usually remains under the cast throughout the healing process.
