Instructions for use

For the procedure or stock solution and working solution preparations, refer to Tuberculosis Culture Laboratory, MSF-ITM, 2014.

Storage

  • Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place
  • Avoid formation of dust and aerosols
  • Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed

MSF requirements

Streptomycin is part of the first line drugs used against M. tuberculosis complex. The test is performed to investigate resistance of the mycobacterium to this antibiotic. The drug solution is added to agar or egg-based media during preparation.
