Definition
Transport medium with sample collection swab allowing the collection of faecal specimens and preservation of bacteria present in the samples (e.g. Shigella, Salmonella, Yersinia). Cary-Blair is the transport medium used for the investigation of Vibrio cholerae, Shigella and Yersinia (Plague).

Sterile contents unless the package has been opened or damaged.
Instructions for use
Intended to transport bacteria to a referral laboratory for diagnostic confirmation and bacterial sensitivity test (Cholera, Shigella, plague, Neisseria).

Transport of samples
- All samples must be identified (patient's name or code nº + date and place of sampling).
- All samples must be sent with clinical and epidemiological data.
- All samples must be transported in a triple packaging box to follow the mandatory air transport regulations and prevent any risk of leakage and contamination.
