Therapeutic Action
Combination of two local anaesthetics of the amide type
Indications
Topical anaesthesia of the skin prior to:
- planned needle insertion (e.g. intravenous catheters, blood sampling, lumbar puncture)
- planned superficial surgical procedures (e.g. localised injuries)
Instructions for use
5 gr tube for single patient use.
1 gr of cream is approximatively equivalent to 3.5 cm of cream.
The cream should be applied at least 1 hour before an injection or procedure is planned to occur.
Apply the quantity required of cream on intact skin, cover with an occlusive dressing and allow sufficient time for the anaesthetic effect to take place.
LIDOCAINE hydrochloride, 1%, preservative-free, 10ml, amp (DINJLIDO1A1) can be used subcutaneously as an alternative for local anaesthesia in unplanned superficial surgical procedures.
Precautions for Use
Contraindicated in preterm infants.
Do not apply to broken, irritated skin or open wounds.
Do not apply to large areas of the body.
Storage
- Below 25ºC - Protect from sunlight
- Do not refrigerate.
- Tightly close the tube after each use to prevent contamination.
