Antipsychotic, antimanic and mood stabilising
Indications
Acute and chronic psychosis and acute manic episode, in case of intolerance or treatment failure with other antipsychotics (e.g. haloperidol)

Instructions for use
It is recommended to order biperiden (or trihexyphenidyl) together with olanzapine, to be given in the event of extrapyramidal disorders.
Precautions for Use
Precautions in obese patients: weight gain is a common side effect of olanzapine.
Do not administer in patients with cardiac disorders, dementia, Parkinson's disease and history of neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
Administer with caution and carefully monitor use in elderly patients and patients with hypokalaemia, hypotension, prostate disorders, renal or hepatic impairment, history of seizures.
