Function

Used to measure AC leakage current, earth leakage, and load current in electrical installations, helping diagnose insulation deterioration, unwanted leakage paths, or load imbalance. Suitable for maintenance tasks, inverter-based equipment, and general electrical troubleshooting.

Usage: select the appropriate range, clamp the jaw around the target conductor(s) according to measurement type, and read the value on the display. Filtering mode (50/60 Hz) may be activated to suppress high-frequency noise.

Specific use:

  • detection of leakage currents causing nuisance tripping

  • comparison between WIDE and 50/60 Hz modes to isolate harmonic or inverter-induced leakage

  • measurement in tight spaces requiring small-jaw access

Limitations: AC only; not suitable for voltages above CAT III 300 V; accuracy impacted near strong magnetic fields; conductor must fit fully within the jaws for correct measurement.

Use precautions:

  • inspect the jaws for damage or debris before use

  • keep fingers behind the barrier during measurement

  • avoid measuring near strong magnetic fields when possible

  • ensure jaws fully close around the conductor

  • set to OFF after use to preserve battery life
