LIGHTNING-SURGE PROT. type2 (Dehn952315) 4P/40kA,mod+contact

Form

This SPD provides Type 2 protection for 230/400 V AC installations, using heavy-duty zinc oxide varistors and spark-gap technology for high discharge capability and coordinated Type 2 + Type 3 protection. It features plug-in protection modules, fault indication, and a floating changeover contact for remote signaling.

  • nominal voltage (UN): 230 / 400 V AC

  • maximum continuous operating voltage (Uc): 275 V AC (L–N), 255 V AC (N–PE)

  • voltage protection level (Up): ≤ 1.5 kV (L–N), ≤ 1.5 kV (N–PE)

  • short-circuit withstand capability (ISCCR): 50 kA

  • nominal discharge current (In): 20 kA (8/20 µs)

  • SPD type / class: type 2 / class II (IEC 61643-11)

  • Imax: 40 kA (8/20 µs)

  • Iimp (N–PE): 12 kA (10/350 µs)

  • number of poles: 3 + 1 (TT / TN-S)

  • dimensions: 90 x 72 x 66 mm

  • weight: 0.415 kg

Per piece.

Fit

  • installation location: main AC distribution board / sub-distribution

  • recommended back-up fuse / MCB: max. 125 A gG

  • AC system compatibility: 230/400 V AC (TT / TN-S, 3+1 configuration)

  • mounting type: 35 mm DIN rail

  • IP protection: IP20

  • max wire size: 1.5…35 mm² (stranded) / up to 25 mm² (flexible)

Function

The surge protective device (SPD) protects AC electrical installations and connected loads against transient overvoltages caused by lightning or switching operations.
Using heavy-duty varistors and spark-gap technology with “Thermo Dynamic Control” monitoring, it safely diverts surge energy to ground while maintaining coordinated Type 2 and Type 3 protection.
It provides reliable protection in L-N and N-PE modes and includes a floating changeover contact for remote signaling.
