LIGHTNING-SURGE PROT. type 3, 3P+E/8kA, modular, set

Form

This SPD provides Type 2 + Type 3 protection for 230/400 V AC installations, using MOV + GDT hybrid technology for coordinated protection in differential and common modes. It includes a pluggable cartridge, integrated disconnector, mechanical status indication, and remote signaling.

  • nominal voltage (Ue): 230/400 V AC

  • maximum continuous operating voltage (Uc): 350 V AC (L/N, L/PE), 264 V AC (N/PE)

  • voltage protection level (Up): < 1.2 kV (L/N), < 1.5 kV (L/PE), < 1.7 kV (N/PE)

  • short-circuit current rating (Isccr): 25 kA

  • nominal discharge current (In): 2 kA (8/20 µs)

  • SPD type / class: type 2 + type 3 (IEC 61643-11)

  • Imax: 8 kA (8/20 µs)

  • number of poles: 3P + N

  • dimensions: 94 × 131.5 × 75.9 mm (H × W × D)

  • weight: 0.84 kg

Per piece.

Fit

  • installation location: main AC distribution board / sub-distribution

  • recommended back-up fuse / MCB: not required (integrated disconnector Icu 25 kA)

  • AC system compatibility: 230/400 V AC (TT / TN-S)

  • mounting type: DIN rail (clip-on)

  • IP protection: IP20 (front face IP40)

  • max wire size: 2.5…25 mm² (tunnel terminals, rigid or flexible)

Function

The surge protective device (SPD) protects AC electrical installations and connected equipment against transient overvoltages caused by lightning and switching operations.
Using MOV + GDT hybrid technology with an integrated circuit breaker, it safely diverts surge energy to ground while maintaining coordinated Type 2 and Type 3 protection.
It provides protection in differential and common modes across all phases and neutral and includes remote signaling for monitoring.
