LIGHTNING-SURGE PROT. type 2, 1P+E/40kA, modular, set

Form

This SPD provides Type 2 protection for 230 V AC installations, using MOV + GDT technology for strong discharge capacity and coordinated protection in differential and common modes. It includes a pluggable cartridge, integrated disconnector, mechanical status indication, and remote signaling contact.

  • nominal voltage (Ue): 230 V AC

  • maximum continuous operating voltage (Uc): 350 V AC (L/N, L/PE), 264 V AC (N/PE)

  • voltage protection level (Up): < 2.5 kV (L/N), < 1.5 kV (L/PE, N/PE)

  • short-circuit breaking capacity (Icu): 20 kA (integrated disconnector)

  • nominal discharge current (In): 20 kA (8/20 µs)

  • SPD type / class: type 2 (IEC 61643-11)

  • Imax: 40 kA (8/20 µs)

  • number of poles: 1P + N

  • dimensions: 94 × 72 × 75.9 mm (H × W × D)

  • weight: 0.44 kg

Per piece.

Fit

  • installation location: main AC distribution board / sub-distribution

  • recommended back-up fuse / MCB: not required (integrated disconnection Icu 20 kA)

  • AC system compatibility: 230 V AC (TN-S / TT)

  • mounting type: DIN rail (clip-on)

  • IP protection: IP20

  • max wire size: 2.5…35 mm² (upside) / 2.5…25 mm² (downside)

Function

The surge protective device (SPD) protects AC electrical installations and connected loads against transient overvoltages caused by lightning or switching operations.
Using MOV + GDT hybrid technology with an integrated disconnector, it safely diverts surge energy to ground while limiting the residual voltage to protect downstream equipment.
It provides coordinated Type 2 protection in L/N, L/PE and N/PE modes and includes remote signaling for monitoring.
