Therapeutic Action

Broad-spectrum bis-diguanide antiseptic

Indications

Antisepsis of intact skin in neonates prior to IM injection (except vaccination), IV catheter insertion, venous blood sampling, lumbar puncture or IV tubing access.

Alcohol solutions are contraindicated in neonates.

Iodine products are contraindicated in neonates.

Precautions for Use

Clearly identify the bottle to avoid confusion with other chlorhexidine solutions (2% chlorhexidine containing 70% isopropyl alcohol or other concentrations).

Do not use with soap or any other class of antiseptic, e.g. polyvidone iodine (incompatibility).

Storage

  • Below 25°C - Protect from sunlight
  • Tightly close the bottle after each use to prevent contamination.
