BATTERY MONITOR (Studer BSP-500) shunt 500A 50mV

Form

Battery monitor for tracking lead-acid batteries with Studer Xtender inverter-chargers, using a dedicated communication bus and resistive shunt for accurate state of charge calculation.

Electrical characteristics:

  • supply voltage range: 7–85 V DC
  • supply current: 9 mA @ 12 V / 5 mA @ 24 V / 3 mA @ 48 V
  • shunt measurement input: 195 mV
  • RMS continuous current: 500 A
  • maximum measurable peak current: 1950 A
  • battery capacity supported: 20–20 000 Ah
  • voltage measurement accuracy: 0,3 %
  • current measurement accuracy: 0,5 %

Material: Plastic enclosure withintegratedtemperaturesensor, resistive shunt supplied for currentmeasurement.

Protection: IP20, RoHS compliant, conformity with LVD 2014/35/EU and EMC 2014/30/EU.

Operating temperature: −20 °C to +55 °C

Thermosensitivity: indoor installation only, avoid condensation and acid exposure.

Dimensions: 110.5 × 75 × 26 mm.W

Weight: 0.9 kg.

Includes:

  • 1 × BSP-500 module
  • 1 × 500 A / 50 mV shunt
  • 1 × communication cable for Xtender bus
  • 1 × fixing plate or adhesive mounting set
  • 1 × quick start documentation

Per piece.

Fit

Compatible with Studer Xtender inverter/chargers via Xtender communication bus.
Requires RCC-02/03 remote control for configuration and monitoring.
Connects in series with battery negative pole through the supplied 500 A / 50 mV shunt.
Designed for 12 V, 24 V and 48 V lead-acid battery banks with capacity range 20 Ah to 20 000 Ah.

Function

Measures and processes battery parameters including voltage, current (via shunt), temperature, state of charge, time to go, and amp-hour counters.
Optimizes the performance of lead-acid batteries by transmitting real-time state of charge and battery status to Xtender inverter/chargers, enabling adaptive system behavior.
Supports advanced configuration such as Peukert exponent, charge efficiency factor, end-of-charge synchronization and temperature correction.

Limitations: only suitable for lead-acid batteries (other chemistries must be set as simple counter), IP20 indoor use only, maximum continuous current ±500 A, maximum measurable peak current ±1950 A.

Durability: Swiss manufacturing quality, robust design for long-term integration into Studer systems.

Storing conditions: keep in dry, non-condensing environment, protected from mechanical shocks, frost, humidity and dust.
