(plug in relay) BASE (ABB CR-U3S)

Form

Standard DIN-rail mount socket with screw terminals organized for easy wiring access.

  • rated Operational Current : (230 V) 10 A
  • dimensions: 38 mm (Width) x 26 mm (Height) x 75 mm (Depth)

  • weight: 0.065 kg

  • connections: 12-pin receptacle layout with screw terminals

Fit

  • mounting: snaps onto standard 35 mm DIN rail (IEC/EN 60715)
  • device compatibility: Specifically sized to accept ABB CR-U series relays with 3 c/o contacts, including PELECOMMIA210 (CR-U024DC3L)
  • wiring: 20-14 AWG/0,5...2,5 mm² or flexible wire with ferrule 20-16 AWG/0,5...1,5 mm²
  • accessories: includes a slot for pluggable function modules (e.g., reverse polarity diodes or EMC protection)
  • Coil Connections (Control):

    • Terminals: Marked A1 and A2.

    • A1: Primary supply connection (Positive + for DC applications).

    • A2: Return supply connection (Negative - / Neutral).

NB: Correct polarity is essential when using LED or protection modules.

  • Contact Connections (Output): The socket features 3 independent change-over (c/o) poles.

    • Common (COM): Terminals 11, 21, 31

      • The input/supply terminal for each of the 3 independent poles

    • Normally Closed (NC): Terminals 12, 22, 32

      • The contact connected to Common when the relay is OFF (de-energized)

    • Normally Open (NO): Terminals 14, 24, 34

      • The contact connected to Common when the relay is ON (energized)

  • Operational Logic:

    • Relay OFF (No power to A1/A2): power flows from 11 to 12 (NC). the connection to 14 is open

    • Relay ON (Power applied to A1/A2): the coil switches the contact. Power now flows from 11 to 14 (NO), and the connection to 12 is broken.

  • Typical Application (Motor Control):

    • use A1/A2 for the start/stop signal

    • wire the "Start" button through the 11-14 (NO) path to create a self-latching circuit (holding the power on after the button is released)

    • use 11-12 (NC) for an auxiliary function, such as a "Standby" status light that turns off when the motor starts

Function

  • provides the physical and electrical interface for the relay, allowing PELECOMMIA210 to be wired into a panel and easily replaced without disturbing the cabling.

  • system role: acts as the bridge between the panel wiring (screw terminals) and the relay unit (circular pins).
