LIGHTNING-SURGE PROT. type 1 (Citel, DS60VGPV-600G/51)

Form

This SPD provides Type 1+2 protection for PV installations up to 720 V DC, using VG technology (high-energy varistor + gas tube) for long service life, zero leakage current, and strong protection in common and differential modes.

  • nominal system voltage (Uocstc): 600 V DC

  • maximum continuous operating voltage (Ucpv): 720 V DC

  • voltage protection level (Up): 2.8 kV (+/–), 2.2 kV (+/PE or –/PE)

  • short-circuit withstand (IscpV): 15 000 A

  • nominal discharge current (In): 20 kA (8/20 µs)

  • SPD type / class: type 1 + 2 (IEC 61643-31)

  • Imax: 40 kA per pole (8/20 µs)

  • Iimp: 12.5 kA per pole (10/350 µs)

  • number of poles: + / – / PE

  • dimensions: 90 × 90 × 70 mm

  • weight: 0.252 kg

Per piece.

Fit

  • installation location: PV string combiner / DC distribution enclosure

  • recommended back-up fuse / MCB: none required (internal thermal disconnector)

  • PV system compatibility: + / – / PE configuration (common and differential protection)

  • mounting type: 35 mm DIN rail

  • IP protection: IP20

  • max wire size: 6…35 mm² (screw terminals)

Function

The surge protective device (SPD) protects photovoltaic systems and sensitive downstream equipment from transient overvoltages generated by lightning strikes or switching operations.
Using VG technology (varistor + gas tube), it safely diverts surge energy to ground while maintaining zero leakage current and ensuring long service life.
It limits the voltage reaching the PV array and inverter, providing both common-mode and differential-mode protection.
