VACCINOMETER WHEEL PLUS, plastic
Definition
A device designed to monitor and track vaccination status of children aged 0 to 59 months. The Vaccinometer displays new and catch-up vaccine doses for which a child might be eligible, based on his/her age and vaccination history.
Specifications
- Two rotating cardboard disks designed to display vaccination information:
- the outer circle shows the child's age, from birth to 8 years, marked in weeks, months, and years
- a list of diseases and corresponding vaccines is displayed
- a 3-coloured window indicates the vaccination schedule based on the child's age:
- red: no dose required
- blue: new dose required
- yellow: catch-up dose required
- The reverse side includes instructions for use
- Available in two language versions: English or French
Instructions for use
- Determine the child's age: ask for the child's age and align the arrows on the vaccinometer to the oldest age already reached by the child.
- Assess vaccination history: ask which vaccine doses the child has already received. If the vaccination history cannot be certified, consider the child is not vaccinated.
- Compare with the vaccinometer display: review the recommended doses for each vaccine shown in the 3-colour window of the vaccinometer
- Determine required doses: based on the window colour for each vaccine:
- Red: do not administer this vaccine at th current age
- Blue: administer one new dose of this vaccine if the child's vaccination is up to date and the minimum interval from the previous dose is respected.
- Yellow: administer one catch-up dose of this vaccine if the vaccination is NOT up to date and the minimum interval from the previous dose is respected.
