This is a freeze-preventive cold box, which shares some key similarities and differences with regular cold boxes, such as the RCW25:

• The ice packs used in freeze-preventive cold boxes should not be conditioned. They should be used directly from the freezer without prior conditioning.Theyperformbetterwhentakendirectlyfromthe freezer withoutpriorconditioning.
• The internal temperature of the cold box will never drop below 2 °C, even when using non-conditioned ice packs.
• The time needed for the cold box's interior to cool down and reach a temperature below 8 °C is longer than with a regular cold box, typically 3 hours or more, depending on the situation. Therefore, the internal temperature must be monitored and reach < 8 °C before placing any medical items inside.
• This freeze-preventive cold box can be used with any medical product just like a regular cold box.
• Since ice packs do not need to be conditioned but take longer to cool down and reach 8 °C inside, it is recommended to prepare the freeze-preventive cold box the night before use.
