Form

Sachet containing 4 grams of powder consisting, among others, of 0.546% Calcium Hypochlorite and ferric sulfate. Closed article: P&G Purifier of Water. Per 240 sachets.

Fit

For use during the acute phase of emergencies for batch treatment (coagulation/ flocculation, chlorination) of turbid (surface) water.

Can be part of a household level water treatment campaign.

Function

The content of one sachet can be used to treat 10 litre of water to drinking water quality. Instructions are to be followed closely. A comprehensive training / HP campaign has to be carried out when distributing the product to beneficiaries.

Contents of one sachet are mixed into 10 litre of turbid water to be treated. The mixture is stirred for 5 minutes, then allowed to settle. Following that the water is strained through a cotton cloth into a second container. Before consuming the water, 20 minutes of contact time has to be allowed for the chlorine to disinfect the water.

Water purifier cannot be used to treat salt water.
