Therapeutic Action

Long-acting mydriatic and cycloplegic, anticholinergic

Indications

Uveal inflammations in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age:

  • anterior (iritis, iridocyclitis) and posterior uveitis
  • uveal reactions secondary to aggression or surgical treatment

Instructions for use

1 drop of eye drops (approximately 25 µl) contains 250 µg of atropine sulphate.

Sterile single-dose eye drops for ocular use only.

Strictly follow the indications and dosages.

Unidose eye drops should be used for a single patient, for a single instillation and should be discarded after this instillation.

MSF supplies single-dose (unidose) eye drops rather than 5 or 10 ml bottles to avoid contamination.

Precautions for Use

Atropine eye drops enter the systemic circulation and may cause systemic effects, particularly in children and the elderly.

Contraindicated in patients at risk or with confirmed narrow-angle glaucoma and in children under 12 years of age (serious systemic side effects).

Storage

  • Below 25ºC - Protect from sunlight
  • Do not freeze.
  • Shelf life: 15 to 24 months depending on the manufacturer
  • After opening, discard the single-dose after use. Do not reuse an opened unidose for further administration.
