Therapeutic Action

Broad-spectrum bis-diguanide antiseptic

Indications

Antisepsis of minor and superficial wounds and burns, when polyvidone iodine is contraindicated.

Instructions for use

5% chlorhexidine digluconate solution equivalent to 2.8 % chlorhexidine, to be diluted before use.

Allow the solution to dry (minimum contact time of 1 min) to ensure a bactericidal effect.

In case of soiled wounds, cleanse previously with 4% chlorhexidine soap.

Precautions for Use

Do not use undiluted solution.

Never mix a fresh solution with a "leftover" solution.

Do not use with soap or any other class of antiseptic, e.g. povidone-iodine (incompatibility).

Avoid contact with the brain, meninges and middle ear.

Storage

  • Below 25°C - Protect from sunlight
  • After dilution, use the solution immediately; do not keep the diluted solution (risk of contamination).
