Calcium folinate (also known as leucovorin, folinic acid) is a folic acid derivative

Calcium folinate itself has no intrinsic cytotoxic activity

Indications

Prevention of pyrimethamine-induced folinic acid deficiency

Instructions for use

Do not replace folinic acid with folic acid, as this reduces the antiprotozoal activity of pyrimethamine.
