Indications

Gestational and chronic hypertension in pregnant women

Instructions for use

Both strengths, 100 mg (DORALABE1T-) and 200 mg (DORALABE2T-), must be ordered to enable initiation and dose adjustment, as +the 200 mg tablet is not breakable.

Labetalol is considered as the first-line treatment for hypertension in pregnancy, with Nifedipine as the second alternative and methyldopa as the third due to more side effects and lower effectiveness.

Precautions for Use

After birth, monitor the neonate closely for bradycardia and hypoglycaemia.

Contraindicated in uncontrolled asthma and in heart failure.
