SALBUTAMOL solution for nebulizer

Therapeutic Action

Inhaled short-acting beta2 agonist (SABA) bronchodilator

After inhalation, it causes rapid bronchodilation within minutes and lasting for 4-6 hours.

Indications

Severe acute asthma attacks

For symptomatic treatment of asthma attack, prefer salbutamol via a metered dose inhaler (aerosol).

Instructions for use

Ready-to-use solution for inhalation, in single-dose container, to be given with a nebuliser and a mask.

Method of administration:

  • Assemble the nebuliser according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Open the container by twisting the top end vigorously.
  • Squeeze the container to empty it into the nebuliser reservoir.
  • Complete with 0.9% sodium chloride to obtain a total volume of 4 ml in the nebuliser reservoir.
  • Avoid eye contact with the aerosol generated by the nebuliser.
  • With pneumatic nebulisers, the flow of air or oxygen to pulse the solution will be adjusted according to the patient's condition and the manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Nebulisation should not normally exceed 10-20 minutes.
  • After nebulisation, any unused solution remaining in the nebuliser reservoir should be discarded.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions for use, cleaning and maintenance of the nebuliser.

Precautions for Use

Only by inhalation route. Never use nebuliser solution by parenteral route.

Do not swallow.

Storage

  • Below 25ºC - Protect from sunlight
  • Single-dose container without preservative. Use immediately after opening.
  • Do not use a partially opened or damaged single-dose container.
