Centrally acting opioid analgesic (Step 2 analgesic, weak opioid)

Indications

Moderate pain, alone or in combination with a non-opioid analgesic

Instructions for use

Oral solution 100 mg/ml: 1 drop = 2.5 mg

Tramadol is not a substitute for morphine. The analgesic potency of tramadol is approximately 10 times less than that of morphine (Level 3 analgesic).

In some countries, tramadol is on the list of narcotics (Cf Introduction on drugs: Narcotic and psychotropic drugs).

Precautions for Use

Do not administer in children under 12 years of age.
