VACCINE TYPHOID polysaccharide unconjugate

CAUTION

The multidose vaccine is worded and codified by unit (= 1 dose) to make the order easier.

Please always consider the MSF STD (Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine-TCV) before ordering a NST.

Therapeutic Action

Purified Vi capsular polysaccharide of Salmonella typhi (Ty2 strain)

Unconjugate vaccine

Indications

Active immunisation against typhoid fever caused by Salmonella enterica serovar typhi, S. typhi in adults and children over 2 years of age.

This typhoid unconjugate polysaccharide vaccine should be replaced by the typhoid conjugate vaccine.

The typhoid conjugate vaccine (TCV) offers a broader age range (can be administered from the age of 6 months) and longer-lasting protection (probably several years) than the thyphoid unconjugate polysaccharide vaccine administered from the age of 2 years, with protection for 2 years.
