X-RAY GRID

Definition

A portable anti-scatter x-ray grid filters out randomly deflected radiation that can blur a radiograph. It is positioned between the patient and the x-ray cassette and allows only the primary radiation to pass to the cassette while absorbing secondary (or scattered) radiation which contains no useful information. It improves image quality and reduces patient dose.
