Definition
Positioning cushions assist the positioning and immobilization of a patient when taking an x-ray. They reduce the need for repeat imaging resulting from patient movement. They also support the x-ray cassette in the necessary position.
Positioning cushions should be made available at every site with an x-ray unit.

Maintenance
Cushions must be cleaned and disinfected with a detergent/disinfectant for surfaces/non-invasive medical equipment. Prepare use-solution in concentration required. Always read the label and product information before use. Do not mix with other products. Make sure to wet the surfaces completely, use a wipe or towel, keep them wet for the whole exposure time.
