Definition
A metal rod with two or more hooked bars extending horizontally from its top from which various fluid delivery devices (bags or bottles) can be suspended for the administration of intravenous (IV) fluids/medication to the patient.
It is used during infusion therapy for intravenous administration of fluids/solutions or blood transfusions.
Commonly known as an IV pole or drip pole, it is an independent floor-standing IV pole with wheels to allow patient mobility.

Maintenance
After each use, the stand must be cleaned and disinfected with a detergent/disinfectant solution for surfaces / non-invasive medical equipment. Prepare use-solution in concentration required. Always read the label and product information before use. Do not mix with other products. Make sure to wet the surfaces completely, use a wipe or towel, keep them wet for the whole exposure time.
