Haemostatic forceps, Crafoord (Coller)

Definition

Crafoord Forceps, which may also be known as a Crafoord Coarctation Clamp, may also be identified by the surname Coller. This instrument is most commonly used in cardiovascular and vascular procedures to control blood flow. This product has a ratcheted, finger ring handle, straight shanks, and slightly curved jaws with full, transversal serrations.

Used for haemostasis in deep surgery.

Precautions for Use

Do not use these forceps for nursing care as this could impair their distal pressure (the vessels would slip off the jaws). To grip compresses and make dressings, use the appropriate forceps (standard dressing forceps or Cheron dressing forceps).
