Scissors Metzembaum

Metzenbaum scissors are surgical scissors designed for cutting delicate tissue and blunt dissection. Blades are curved. The blade tips are usually blunt. These scissors are not recommended for cutting sutures, drains, or heavy tissue.

Metzenbaum-Lahey scissors tend to be shorter than standard Metzenbaum scissors.

Technical specifications

  • Surgical scissors with thin, curved, blunt blades
  • Good scissors give a constant and progressive cut, from bottom to top
  • Length: 14cm / 18cm / 20 cm / 23cm‌ and 26 cm
  • Material: martensitic steel

Instructions for use

Metzenbaum scissors used for dissection are placed in tissue with the tips closed. The scissors are then opened so that the tips open and spread out the tissue during the dissection process.

Precautions for Use

These scissors are not intended for nursing care, never use surgical scissors for cutting suture threads or gauze!
