Definition

Micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) used as a supplement to balance the nutritional deficiencies in the local traditional meals, for adults and family meals.

Highly concentrated vitamin and mineral paste, with a flavour that masks the metallic taste of certain minerals present in large proportions.

To be added and mixed to a meal, after cooking.

QB mix is the only reference available for now.

Packaging & Labelling

Primary and secondary packaging must protect the hygienic and nutritional qualities of the product during transport, handling, storage under MSF field conditions.

  • Primary packaging (unit packaging): pot of 900g
  • Secondary packaging: box of 6 pots (5.4 kg net; 6.2 kg gross, 11.3dm3)

Instructions for use

Micronutrients should be added to normal meals just before consumption. It is recommended to add them after the meal has been cooked, to protect the heat-sensitive vitamins.

They can be used in any type of dish where the product can be spread evenly (porridge, soup, family pot food...)

Daily consumption is not necessary. 21 g per person for a period of 2 weeks is sufficient (= 1.5 g/day) in 2 or 3 intakes per week.

Storage

  • Below 30°C, Protect from sunlight ‐ Protect from humidity
  • Shelf life:18 months from the manufacturing date stated on each tin
  • After opening, the product must be consumed within 2 weeks. Tightly close the tin with the lid after each use.
