Agar to prepare Middlebrook 7H11 media. Used with glycerol, Middlebrook OADC Enrichment and antibiotic / antimycotic mixture for isolation, cultivation and susceptibility testing of mycobacteria.

Instructions for use
Dissolve Middlebrook 7H11 in distilled water and add glycerol according to standard procedures.
Autoclave before adding antibiotic/antimycotic mixture.
When preparing Middlebrook 7H11 enriched with 4- Nitrobenzoic acid, add the acid solution before autoclaving the mixture.
While pouring plates, keep Middlebrook 7H11 water bath at 50°C, as agar solidifies very quickly.
Perform regular medium Quality Control for each new batch of plates prepared.
Middlebrook 7H11 agar should incubate at a 5% CO2 atmosphere.
Storage
- At room temperature between 10 and 30°C
- Store in dry conditions and in a well-sealed receptacle, far from oxidizing substances.
- Middlebrook 7H11 plates must be stored in the fridge and can be kept for up to 4 weeks as long as the plate does not get dry.
MSF requirements
Reserved for TB culture programmes: Used to prepare agar medium plates for Thin Layer Agar technique.
It can also be used to prepare agar base tubes for Drug Susceptibility Testing on solid medium.
