Instructions for use

  • silvered surface inside: retains heat radiance => isolates from humidity, cold and rain (a wounded patient wrapped in the blanket conserves the body heat)

May be cut into smaller pieces for children.

Precautions for Use

Risk of overheating if the patient has fever!

Single patient use. If absolutely needed, can be reused after cleaning and disinfection:

  • Use a detergent/disinfectant for surfaces. Prepare use-solution in concentration required. Always read the label and product information before use. Do not mix with other products. Make sure to wet surfaces completely, use a wipe or towel, keep them wet for the whole exposure time.
  • Failing that, disinfect with 0.1% active chlorine solution.

Do not use

  • during surgical intervention with electro surgical unit
  • when using a defibrillator
  • outside in case of thunderstorm (risk of electrocution)

MSF requirements

Protection of patients with hypothermia (malnourished, with serious burns, in immediate postoperative period, newborn, wounded etc.).
