A single-use device, also referred to as a disposable device, is intended for use on one patient during a single procedure. It is not intended to be reprocessed (i.e., cleaned and disinfected or sterilized).

European Medical Device Nomenclature (EMDN) is the nomenclature of use by manufacturers when registering their medical devices in the EUDAMED database. EMDN is characterised by its alphanumeric structure that is established in a seven-level hierarchical tree.
The product is part of at least one Kit. A kit is a collection of products (medical and/or logistic) that are needed for a certain intervention in emergency. RAZOR, disposable

Definition

A hand-held device fitted with an integral razor blade used to remove facial or body hair from a person or patient. It is known as a safety razor because the blade lies protected within the razor head leaving only the cutting edge exposed. This device can be used for skin preparation prior to treatment/small surgery or for normal grooming. This is a single-use device.

  • Material: plastic (commonly injection molded polycarbonate)
  • Handle, ± 8 cm long
  • Single or twin stainless steel blade, with cutting edge on one side, fixed into the head, no blade sharpening or replacement possible.
  • May have a plastic guard
  • Non sterile, disposable

Instructions for use

The disposable razor replaces the reusable metal razor.

Never use the same razor for different patients.

Instrument required to prepare the skin prior to a medical intervention (suture, placement of an IV catheter)
