Fuel intended for petrol engines of cars, motorbikes, generators, water pumps, etc.

• Octane number: 95-99 = premium or super grade petrol

Diesel should never be used instead of petrol.

The octane number indicates the petrol's tendency to detonate. The higher the number, the more the petrol can be compressed without exploding.

In case storage is mandatory for your operations, consult security and technical department.

For safety reasons, volatile, inflammable and explosive fuel should not be stored in the proximity of residential buildings, particularly during conflicts. It must be stored in a shaded, well-ventilated place, free of flammable materials or heat sources (such as a generator). Make sure there is a fire extinguisher or a bucket of sand placed nearby.

Choose a colour for each type of fuel and use it to mark all related articles, such as jerrycans, drums, pumps, etc.

Make sure to use compatible equipment with the fuel while taking into account its characteristics. An electrical pump should be anti-explosive.

Caution

In some cases the same name refers to different fuels in different languages, which can lead to confusion.

For example, in French, petrol is called "essence" and kerosene (lamp oil) is called "pétrole (lampant)".
