ASSEMBLY well head, 6"

Form

Assembly composed of:

  • A 6" borehole outlet head with cable passage
  • A 2" galvanized steel elbow
  • A 2" female threaded gate valve

Per assembled pieces.

Fit

The borehole head fit on top of a 6" casing.

The gate valve fits on a 2" male threaded coupling.

Function

To be installed at the top of a casing.

Allows the passage of cables and the adjustment of the pump flow and protects the riser pipes.

Protects the well from external pollution and falling objects.

A well head or well cap is the top covering of a well. It is bolted directly onto the casing stick up.

Well heads usually have a rubber seal to prevent insects from crawling in – make sure it is not damaged during installation.

The main functions of a well head is to keep small insects, animals, dirt, and debris from entering the well and potentially contaminating the aquifer.

It is also necessary to have a functioning connection from the riser pipe to the tank or supply network and is protecting the riser pipes from damage. By adding the gate valve onto the wellhead, the flow of the pump can be adjusted.

The well head has an access port that allows periodic water-level measurements and has a screened breathing tube to allow air pressure to equalize as water levels rise and fall in the well.

It is essential that casings are sealed off with a well head to prevent contamination and damage to the borehole and aquifer and to allow for proper installation of riser pipes.
