Ammonia tests are routinely applied for pollution control on effluents, waste waters, and for the monitoring of drinking water supplies.

Reagents are supplied as two tablets. The test is done by adding one tablet of each type to a water sample.

Notes:

At low temperatures the rate of colour development in the test may be slower. If the sample temperature is below 20°C allow 15 minutes for the colour to develop.
Ammonia concentrations can be expressed in a number of different ways. The following factors may be used for the conversion of readings: To convert from N to NH4 multiply by 1.3. To convert from N to NH3 multiply by 1.2.
