Therapeutic Action
Combination of two local anaesthetics of the amide type
Indications
Topical anaesthesia of the skin prior to:
- planned needle insertion (e.g. intravenous catheters, blood sampling)
- planned minor surgical procedures (e.g. localised injuries)
Instructions for use
5 gr tube for single patient use.
One gram of cream approximatively equivalent to 3.5 cm of cream.
To open the tube, perforate the protective membrane by applying the cap.
The time needed to achieve reliable anaesthesia is 1 to 2 hours after the application of the cream, depending on the procedure (1 hour for needle insertion, 2 hours for a minor skin procedure)..
Apply a thick layer on intact skin under an occlusive dressing and allow the necessary time for the anaesthetic effect to take place.,
Lidocaine 2% jelly can be used as an alternative for unplanned procedures.
Precautions for Use
Do not apply to broken, irritated skin or open wounds.
Do not apply to large areas of the body.
Do not apply on the genitals of children under 12 years of age.
To prevent overdose in infants, use a syringe (1 ml = 1 g)
Storage
- Below 25ºC - Protect from sunlight
- Do not refrigerate.
- After opening, the tube keeps for up to 6 months.
- Tightly close the tube after each use to prevent contamination.
