SAND BAG UV resistant, 40x60cm, 120g/m²

Form

Very robust plastic bag, rather medium sized (40 x 60 cm), often dark (black) colour. Open article. Per piece.

When used as wall building sandbags, must be stacked in a certain way, see picture below for better understanding. Always contact your line manager for advice before stacking higher than 50 cm.

Fit

To be filled with sand, usually available locally.

Function

Very often used for building sand bag walls protecting facilities and infrastructure against small arms fire, shrapnel but also against bad weather. Required thickness to protect against such type of threats requires careful calculations. The way the bags are filled up to 60% and stacked to build a wall is also important factor.

If you need this type of protection always consult your line manager or the applied security referent of your section.

Also used to deflect water when storms and heavy rains cause flooding, or to divert small river beds. Arranging sandbags into a wall can direct the flow of water to protect a site from flooding or to fill a pond.

Keep in mind that a sandbag wall is not completely waterproof and whatever its function requires maintenance.
