- Blood collection tubes, PET, vacuum, sterile, with EDTA di-potassium salt, to obtain whole blood or EDTA plasma.
- Perforable plug. low density polyethylene resin cap; bromobutyl elastomer stopper
- EDTA salts (ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid) are used for the anticoagulation of whole blood flor hematological tests. Cellular components of the blood are preserved by EDTA. It forms complexes with metal ions as calcium, inhibiting coagulation cascade.
- Anticoagulation with EDTA is irreversible.
- EDTA concentration is 1.8 mg/ml of blood.
