SODIUM METER (LAQUA Twin B-722)

Form

Small portable electronic instrument to measure the Sodium concentration (in water). Packed in a plastic box with 2 tubes of calibration fluid and simple instructions. Closed article: Horiba LAQUA Twin B-722, Na+; Unit of measurement: 1 piece / box

Fit

Is part of the Water Treatment Quality Monitoring kit (KWATKTREQM-).

Function

Used to measure the sodium concentration in drinking water, specifically for malnourished children in Intensive Therapeutic Feeding Centre (ITFC) to prevent hypernatremia (salt accumulation). Malnourished children appear to be more vulnerable during the first phase because they have a lower renal capacity, and therefore cannot filter salts out of their blood.
