Definition
Blood culture bottle for the detection of the existence of microorganisms in body fluids like blood, ascites, brain ridge liquid, etc.
Biphasic bottle containing both liquid and solid culture media to allow the growth of aerobic bacteria present in blood. The bottle is incubated at 35°C in a static incubator and bacterial growth is detected visually

Components
Each vial contains:
- 30 ml of culture broth
- Composition for 1 L of purified water:
- 10 g casein peptone of bovine origin
- 5 g od sodium chloride
- 3 g of dextrose
- 1 g of L-Arginine
- 0.25 g of SPS
- 0.2 g of sodium bicarbonate
- 1.6 g of Tris aminomethane
- 4.5 g of yeast extract
- 1 ml of vit. K3 (menadione)
- 5 mg of hemin of porcine origin
- 10 mg of NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide)
- 1 agar-coated surface
- Composition for 1 L of purified water
- 10 g of casein peptone of bovine
origin - 5 g of sodium chloride
- 1 g of dextrose
- 1 g of L-Arginine
- 4.5 g of yeast extract
- 1 ml of Vit.K3 (menadione)
- 5 mg of hemin of porcine origin
- 15 g of agar

Storage
- Store between 4°C-25°C
- Shelf-life: 18 months
- Guaranteed minimum remaining shelf life at delivery: 1/3 of total shelf life

After use, sterilize cultures and all contaminated material. Please contact your watsan referent for advice on proper disposal.
