Definition

A hand-held, manual, open surgical instrument designed to grasp, manipulate, dissect, and/or clamp soft tissues like blood vessels. It has a scissors-like hinged design with ring handles and blades (non-cutting). This is a reusable surgical instrument intended to be sterilized prior to use.

Instructions for use

The anastomosis clamp is used for cardiothoracic surgeries in which it is necessary to create an anastomotic connection between two blood vessels. These clamps are uniquely designed to reduce blood flow without causing a full occlusion in major vessels such as the carotid artery, aorta and inferior vena cava. The curved hook style of the clamp helps ensure a firm grip that reduces slippage while maintaining a gentle enough hold to protect the vessels themselves.
