Therapeutic Action

Antineoplastic antimetabolite increasing the production of foetal haemoglobin, which decreases the sickling of erythrocytes, reducing the frequency of painful crisis and the need for blood transfusions in sickle cell patients.

Indications

Prevention of recurrent painful vaso-occlusive crises, including acute chest syndrome in adults, adolescents, and children over 2 years of age with symptomatic Sickle Cell Syndrome.

Instructions for use

Precautions for Use

Contraindicated in case of severe anaemia.

Monitor closely the haematological status, renal and hepatic functions.

Administer with caution in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment.
