Therapeutic Action

Broad-spectrum bis-diguanide antiseptic

Indications

Antisepsis of intact skin in neonates before IM injection (excluding vaccinations), IV catheter insertion, venous blood sampling, lumbar puncture, or IV tubing access.

Alcohol-based solutions are contraindicated in neonates.

Iodine-based products are contraindicated in neonates.

Precautions for Use

Clearly label the bottle to avoid confusion with other chlorhexidine solutions, such as 2% chlorhexidine containing 70% isopropyl alcohol or other concentrations.

Do not use in combination with soap or other types of antiseptics, such as povidone iodine (incompatibility).

Storage

  • Below 25°C - Protect from sunlight
  • Tightly close the bottle after each use to prevent contamination.
