ICU, PART medic. & renew.supplies, 4 beds/2 months, complete

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is one of the 6 main activity focal points of the Hospital kit, and is composed of 2 parts:

• Medical equipment for 4 beds/2 months (KMEDKHIE2CO)
• Medicines & renewable supplies for 4 beds/2 months (KMEDKHIS3CO)

The 2 parts of the ICU are designed to be used within the hospital kit to support critical care services (e.g. HDU, ICU). They include the equipment and supplies required for a mixed critical care unit with 4 beds.

The 2 parts can only be ordered with:

• the OPD parts (KMEDKHC+)
• the Ward parts (KMEDKHW+)
• the Operating Theatre parts (KMEDKHO+) (minimum of 1 operating room)
• the 4 support activities:
• Hospital Laboratory (KMEDKHLA1CO)
• Central Sterilisation (KMEDKHST+)
• Central Pharmacy (KMEDKHPH1CO)
• Hospital divers (KMEDKHMI1CO)

The Intensive Care Unit cannot be ordered unless the hospital is fully equipped and staffed with skilled ICU personnel able to ensure 24-hours coverage

Specifications of the ICU activity:

• Diagnostic equipment and supplies are included in both parts.
• Each part is organised into modules ans is available in two configurations:
• basic configuration (mandatory modules only)
• advanced configuration (includes some or all optional modules).
• This module approach provides flexibility and allows better adaptation to specific needs.
• Optional modules can be added as required, depending on the type of care, skill level and setup of the facility.

Remarks

Although specialised activities are considered, fully specialised services such as burn ICUs, paediatric ICUs, and neonatal ICUs should ording using a medical standard list, as some items and quantities in the kits may not be suitable.

• All optional modules and/or items of this kit must be ordered separately. They are NOT automatically sent with the kit.
• For items identified as choice, it is mandatory to order one of the two proposed choices:
• either the English or the French version of the Library KIT.
• This kit contains internationally controlled substances (psychotropic and narcotic drugs). An Import Licence from the receiving national authorities may be required.
